I went to a surf contest this weekend to take some photos and my friend decided to join a skate contest that was going on near the beach.. I took some photos of him instead!

He got the second place!

He is really good..

Don´t try to do that at home.. He is a pro... You can see him every year on Xtreme Games!

His name is Denis Buiu

I knew this was in Brazil before I even looked at your info! Brazil has the best skate halfpipes in the world (that one looks pretty standard actually, but Brazil also has the *most* halfpipes). I'm more into the street style, but that halfpipe stuff blows my mind. Way too scary for me.

From the looks of it I would say that's a heelflip actually.

Skate culture is pretty good here (Vancouver, Canada). We have the Slam City Jam every year. No really big skate parks, otherwise, but a lot of little ones all over the place. Lots of people with longboards here these days.

Whoops I'm way off topic.

Anyway, great photo! I admit I'm biased because of the content, but trying my best to ignore that, it really is a good action shot.

I would so much like to see it taken more to the left. The guys there could make a nice audience to the skater who would be placed in a better composition. You would even make the background les distracting then. Nice catch of the moment. Dynamic - +7/10
